It’s nearly the witching hour, but before we’re all turned into something nasty against our will there’s still plenty to recap here. First there was a typically eclectic playlist that mixed everything from Jungle to Avenged Sevenfold. Then there were reviews of sometime Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith’s intriguing new solo album, plus further evidence that Dunedin’s Chills are if anything as good now as they’ve ever been.
Throw in the “interesting” Alt-J remix album and Teleman’s fine third and it would’ve been a good month anyway, but perhaps inevitably Idles stole the show performing live in Manchester, blowing away most of the competition in the Britain’s Best Band stakes.
