There are quite a few songs dedicated to roads, from Bruce Springsteen to Chuck Berry, so if you’re going to add to that cannon then you need to be really sure you’re going to make a statement.

London’s North Circular is grimy not glamorous, But Real Lies song isn’t really about it, just the life of a person cut adrift by someone they took for granted. Everything But The Girl’s ‘Missing’ for the decade with no name, North Circular’s heartbroken synth vamp, like the story it tells, never gets to a resolution. And in amongst the concrete, tarmac and graffitti, two ghosts carry on walking.
