Best Albums of 2021 #11 Sault – Nine

There was a whiff of gimmickry around Nine with it only being available on streaming platforms for 99 days, but on first listen any doubts that the reclusive players were creating a distraction found themselves dispensed with immediately. Grittier and more downbeat than it’s predecessors, in little over thirty minutes they gave us the essence of their London in a beautifully complicated, articulate and unashamedly personal series of sketches.

Key Tracks: London Gangs, Trap Life, Alcohol, Light’s In Your Hands
