A sort of indie pop supergroup thing including cameos from the likes of Justin Vernon and Har Mar Superstar, Gayngs first album Related was a tribute to the airbrushed yacht rock of Chris De Burgh and especially 10CC, including on it a cover of Godley & Creme’s mushy eighties epic Cry.

With all the songs delivered at a pedestrian 69BPM – yes, all of them – the collaborators had to be pretty damn sure they knew how create other focal points beyond tempo. The Gaudy Side of Town opened Related, a dreamy, embryonic kind of blue eyed soul that stretched to over seven blunted, heavenly, deep cut minutes.
