Best Albums of 2021 #13 Leon Vynehall – Rare, Forever

In making the follow up to 2018’s more straightforward Nothing Is Still Leon Vynehall drew threads around a concept he called velvet, one which even he couldn’t articulate in words. Rare, Forever had no vocalisations either, instead exploring the producer’s future and present through a series of haunted raves and mysterious, blurry travelogues.

Key Tracks : Ecce! Ego!, Snakeskin ∞ Has-Been, Worm (& Closer & Closer), Dumbo
