Every day it seems like that fine line between what’s in your heart and what’s deemed acceptable blurs to the point of abstraction; there are plenty of females who front rock bands now, but how they go about their business remains very much their problem.
Welcome To My House is a seven track exercise in screwing around to find out. Theresa’s house is her playground, but that doesn’t mean everything is a game, as she spends closer Hands Off My Money declaring ‘I will not suffer under any man’s voice’.
Whilst their trashy industrial-metal noise remains the band’s core selling point, the title track is fleshed out with some raucous soul and Give Me My Halo has a supermarket mum aesthetic which suggests a tilt at the mainstream if they want it. It might be their house, but play this loud – and don’t shut the door on the way out.
