Lea Sen – You Of Now, Pt. 1 EP

Sometimes you just have to make things happen yourself; brought up in Paris – but far from the Champs-Élysées – Lea Sen believed that starting the musical career journey she wanted would involve relocating to London.

Arriving with nowhere to live, few contacts in her phone and an on-off grip of the language, the odds seemed against her succeeding, but a leg up via guesting on Joy Orbison’s well received mixtape Still Slipping, Vol. 1 led to inclusion on the Bowie tribute Modern Love – and now to her debut EP.

Self written, produced and mixed, You of Now Pt.1‘s five songs are the soulful indie pop of Babeheaven or Lianne Le Havas’s wider sweep, but also contain more than their fair share of pleasant suprises, especially closer I Feel Like I’m Blue. A return trip on the Eurostar won’t be necessary just yet.
